Hints on Reading this Manual

The twenty elements of ISO 9001 are described in sections 4.1 through 4.20 of this manual. They may be read and understood individually in any order that is convenient to you. Some readers find it useful to start with section 4.18 and work backwards. The interrelationships among these twenty elements are described in the final summary and illustrated on the last page. These elements work together to form the Quality System. A glossary at the back of the manual describes terms that may be unfamiliar or have special meaning within the Standard.
